Despite having a mother, sister and wife Jay-Z was never aware of the fact that the word bitch was offensive to women.

But all of that is about to change since the arrival of his daughter Blue Ivy Carter.

The one week old baby who made history by becoming the youngest person to make it on the Billboard charts thanks to a featuring on her daddys new dedication song Glory has prompted her papa to take a major decision.

The rapper wrote a heartfelt poem where he explained his change of heart.

Before I got in the game, made a change, and got rich,

I didn’t think hard about using the word B—-.

I rapped, I flipped it, I sold it, I lived it

now with my daughter in this world

I curse those that give it.

I never realized while on the fast track

that I’d give riddance to the word bitch, to leave her innocence in tact.

No man will degrade her, or call her out her name

the women won’t despise her and call her the same.

Tod’s (yes, the same Tod’s for which Gwyneth Paltrow used to represent) has apparently set up a guarantee fund for the restoration of the Colosseum (10 million euros, $12,7 Million) to start the works at the Colosseum. However, this is not something Tod’s is doing for free (although they reportedly denied it): for the entire duration of the restoration of the monument (for which they’re willing to donate 25 Million euros $31,8 Million), Tod’s ads would be visible on the Colosseum’s protective wraps.

So when we were looking for a lunch place recently, it made sense to visit Narrows Crossing.

Although there are a half-dozen sandwiches and burgers, and the same number of salads (ranging from $5 to $15) on the menu, Narrows Crossing is known for its fried seafood. So I ordered the scallop roll, market-priced at $13.99 that day. It came with homemade cole slaw (sweet, crunchy and rave-worthy) and fries.

Younce, now 50, kept going to the Top Hat until he couldn’t anymore. That was in February 2010, when, after six decades at Palm and Main streets in downtown Ventura, Top Hat was evicted by the owners of the parking lot on which it sat in an 8-foot by 22-foot shack.

Aside from the boarded-up burger shack, the lot is unoccupied and surrounded by a chain-link fence.

The Devil Inside, directed by Stay Alives William Brent Bell, is the story of a young woman whose mother was committed to an asylum after she murdered three people during an exorcism; her own exorcism. The young daughter is now traveling to a hospital in Rome, where her mother was transferred, to examine the validity of her possession. She brings along a film crew to document the experience.

Open since last summer, Frankie’s occupies a corner along a strip of popular Irish pubs and sports bars. The ornate tombstones of Calvary Cemetery face the restaurant through the tall plate-glass windows, and the famous retractable roof of Miller Park is visible beyond the tree line. With counter service and only three sit-down tables, the emphasis is on carryouts, though customers in no hurry often eat in. Frankie’s isn’t a slow cooking bistro, but it’s not fast food either. So, New Year’s Eve is upon us again. It’s that time of year to mull things over, think about the year gone and think of our aspirations for the coming year.

2011 has been a brilliant year at Swide. We’ve expanded and added some new faces to our growing family of Swiders. Apart from doing a job that we love, we all feel lucky to be working with each other and for each other. We’re really looking forward to 2012 and have big hopes for the coming year and this is the day, the first day of the year where we usually mull over what is we want form the next twelve months.

Heavy D was rushed to an L.A. hospital around noon today … and was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1 PM. According to PerezHilton.com, he was found unconscious on a walkway near his home in Beverly Hills.  After 911 was called, Heavy was conscious and speaking, but was transported to the hospital for further testing. An hour later, he had passed.

Last month Heavy D performed a medly of his hits at the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards, marking  his first live performance in 15 years.
