The Raconteurs and Sheryl Crow will headline MI Fest, a new outdoor music and camping festival, Sept. 17 at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.

Joining the Raconteurs and Crow will be a smattering of Michigan-based acts, including the Romantics, Mark Farner, Ty Stone & the Truth, Alto Reed’s AllStars, Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels, the Rockets, Howling Diablos, Jill Jack, Hot Club of Detroit and Bear Lake.

Tickets, $59, are now on sale through www.mi-fest.com. Tickets increase to $79 on Saturday; VIP packages are also available.

MI Fest (pronounced “My Fest”), produced by Farmington Hills-based TGIF Entertainment Group, aims to be a new destination event for the area.

“We are so excited to be bringing this one-of-a-kind music and camping event to Michigan,” George Gikas, TGIF president, said in a statement. “This is the inaugural event of a festival that will become an essential weekend for all music-lovers in Michigan and further afield.”

The event, which will run from 1-11 p.m., will also feature local food and artist groups.

The Raconteurs, led by ex-Detroiters Jack White and Brendan Benson, have been on hold temporarily while White has focused on his other outfit, the Dead Weather. MI Fest will mark the group’s first area performance since its two-night stand at the Fillmore Detroit in June 2008. Several other artists from White’s Third Man Records are slated to perform at the fest, according to a release, and Third Man will have its traveling record store on site.

Crow is spending the summer touring with Kid Rock, but is not featured on the bill of Rock’s two Comerica Park dates next month.
