Hear a Bit of Willow’s New Song “Rock Star.” And Watch Her Be Way More Grown-Up Than You.

Willow takes off at the Kids Choice Awards last month. Hey, if this pop star thing doesn’t work out, she’s ready to spend the next 40 years touring in a fierce new road company of Peter Pan. Wurk.

Willow (the artist formerly known as Willow Smith) has released a little video featuring a snippet of her next single “Rock Star.” It’s fine and catchy and all that. But the video is made up of behind-the-scenes footage of her basically reigning over the red-carpet and backstage at last month’s Kid Choice Awards, and that’s what’s impressive. Clearly wherever this pop moppet goes she’s the HTIC (Head Tween in Charge).

This 10-year-old is more together, more self-aware and more composed than any adult I know. I’m scared. I love how in the video she’s posing for pics with 4-year-olds like she’s a sage old showbiz grand dame. Should I be looking forward to the media spectacle that will come in 5 years when she fires her parents (Ummm, they’ll be living in that mega-trailer that’s currently eating NYC.), has her brother Jaden exiled to afternoon programming on ABC Family and launches her own TV channel, cell phone network, home-shopping empire and marries Justin Bieber (by then her 2nd marriage, his 4th)?

Whatever… The song sounds like a hit, yes? Attention 9-year-olds: Your song of the summer is almost here! (Via Idolator.)

The child seriously is ON IT. She already knows the shoulder/head-turn/arm-out/death-stare pose. The rest of us don’t even stand a chance, y’all.
