Randy Travis will lead West Texas Rehabilitation Center fundraiser
Written by Leah Gillies on June 30, 2011 – 4:28 pmCountry star Randy Travis will be the headliner at the West Texas Rehabilitation Center’s annual Summer Dinner Show fundraiser in August.
Last year’s sellout event, featuring singer Charley Pride, raised more than $250,000. Dan Huggins, the center’s donor relations director, said the organization hopes to raise the bar again this year.
A contact in Nashville who helps with the center’s telethon, helped put Rehab Center officials in touch with Travis’ team.
“We’re super excited, obviously,” Huggins said. “He’s a country superstar.”
The event will begin at 6 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Abilene Civic Center. Tickets for tables of 10 will go on sale June 21 at the Rehab Center, 4601 Hartford St. The cost for a table ranges from $1,500 to $3,500.
Huggins said individual tickets may go on sale closer to the date of the show.
Travis, who has sold more than 25 million records in 25 years of recording, recently released a new duets record with contemporary country stars.
The North Carolina native’s hits include “Forever and Ever, Amen” and “Three Wooden Crosses.”
